Playas de Rosarito officials have launched a major upgrade to the city’s traffic signal system, aiming to improve mobility and reduce accidents along some of its busiest roads.
The project, led by Mayor Rocío Adame’s administration, focuses on Guerrero and Benito Juárez boulevards, two key corridors that handle a high volume of daily traffic. City crews are modernizing existing traffic lights and installing new smart signal technology designed to better manage vehicle flow.

A central feature of the upgrade is the introduction of vehicle detection systems that allow traffic lights to adjust in real time based on congestion levels. Crews are also inspecting wiring, performing technical supervision, and conducting operational tests to ensure the system runs safely and reliably.
City officials say modern traffic infrastructure plays a critical role in easing congestion, improving road safety, and shortening commute times for both drivers and pedestrians.

Authorities acknowledged that the work may cause temporary disruptions and asked residents for patience during the process. They emphasized that the short-term inconvenience is expected to lead to a more efficient and dependable traffic system in the long run.
Under Mayor Rocío Adame’s leadership, the city says it will continue investing in infrastructure projects aimed at improving daily mobility and overall quality of life in Playas de Rosarito.
