California embraces the holiday spirit with white winter tones and colorful lights, offering experiences that feel straight out of a Christmas movie. If you’re looking for a place filled with charm and a true December vibe, the Danish village of Solvang in the Golden State is guaranteed to win you over.
Founded in 1911 in Santa Barbara County, this European-style town was built by Danish immigrants escaping the harsh Midwest winters. Solvang is especially praised for its holiday look, drawing visitors with its impressive seasonal displays. It’s a beautiful place to add to your Christmas itinerary for 2025.
