Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali has announced the launch of the “Plan Vacacional Libro y Pelota” (Book and Ball Summer Program), a free initiative hosted at the Polideportivo facilities that offers children fun and engaging summer activities.
“The Municipal Institutes of Culture and Sports (IMACUM and IMDECUF) have joined forces and launched this summer program for the first time ever, combining several activities for boys and girls aged 6 to 12, which will take place from July 7 to July 18,” the mayor said.

Anahí Martínez, Director of IMACUM, explained that the program will include singing lessons, musical theater training, art-related recreational activities, film club sessions, and storytelling workshops.
Meanwhile, Valerio III Camargo, Director of IMDECUF, highlighted that the summer program will also include basketball, soccer, volleyball, and water games.

The “Book and Ball Summer Program” will run Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interested participants can register via the Facebook pages of both institutes (IMACUM Arte y Cultura and IMDECUF Mexicali) or call 686 552 2723 and 686 552 9630 for more information.
