TECATE.- With the purpose of fighting the problems that threaten the integral health of Tecate's families, Mayor César Moreno González de Castilla, met with State's Secretary of Health, Sergio Tolento Hernández to review the steps that Tecate needs to take in order to become part of the network of Healthy Communities nation wide.

Given that is very important to develop public policies that will improve the quality and lifestyle of the citizens of Tecate, promoting the creation of beneficial health environments, in urban and in rural areas which will have hygienic, safe and stimulant places to live, study and work, making the city part of the national certification system.

Being part of said network will provide access to federal programs and public resources which will allow the promotion of creating, strengthening and consolidation a social health base in the city.

As part of the requirements that Tecate has to fulfill to become part of Healthy Community, a health diagnosis of the community will be made; in that matter councillor Bárbara Alicia Ribera Barrones, coordinator of the Local Health Commission, send out an invitation to the community in general so they attend the Installation of Public Policies for Health Workshop.

This workshop will take place next Monday, February 16 at 4:00 p.m. in Multiple Use Room of CECUTEC.
