Sony decided to pull Seth Rogen and James Franco´s film ¨The Interview¨ due to threats by cyberterrorists, now identified as North Koreans by the United States Department of Defense. With an avalanche of theaters canceling the premiere, sony had no other choice that to make this drastic decisition, however, this does not mean that some theater are happy about it, given that this is being called as one of the biggest attacks against freedom of expression.
Yesterday, The Alamo Drafthouse in Texas tweeted:
The theater will be showing ¨Team America: World Police¨on December 27, a film created by ¨South Park´s¨ Trey Parker and Matt Stone, which tells the story of a special United States team seeking to stop a terrorist plan created by Kim Jong Il, father of North Korea´s current dictator, Kim Jong Un.
The theater representatives had commented that this is a way of protest against freedom of expression censorship. What do you think?
