The accident took place around 3 A.M. yesterday in the city of Huimangillo, according to Tabasco's civil protection director, César Burelo.

Due to the area where the accident occurred, it has been difficult to provide medical assistance, given that ground access is very limited and can only be reached by ship or with air support.
"The Beast" was traveling from Tabasco to Veracruz and it is mentioned that the causes of the accident were rain and that the train was traveling at a higher velocity than intended. The derailing affected the engine as well as the other wagons. One of the main issues is that the victims were traveling on the roof of the train without any type of safety measure and this caused that some of the victims got caught between the trains cars.
