The Force Awakens closed its US opening weekend with $238 million, surpassing Jurassic World's record by $30 million more ($208 million domestic.) The House of Mouse can now happily proclaim its new baby as having the biggest opening weekend of all time.

Of course, Disney is more than happy with this great victory, which will motivate them even more in releasing a new Star Wars movie every year.
"Our sole focus has been creating a film that delivers that one-of-a-kind Star Wars experience, and director J.J. Abrams, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, and the Lucasfilm team have outdone themselves," Alan Horn, chairman of Walt Disney Studios said in a press release.
It's not exactly a "one-of-a-kind Star Wars experience" since there are a lot of similarities with A New Hope, but The Force Awakens has fulfilled most of the fans expectations and will go down in the history books for sure. There is no doubt, the Force is strong with J.J. Abrams' Episode VII.
