According to Baja California's Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, they will begin with the logistics to apply the COVID-19 vaccine in Baja California next week.
Without providing details, the secretary only mentioned that the first to receive the vaccine will be "the resident doctors, emergency doctors, internists, general practitioners; who are literally attending to the covid patients. Those are the ones who are going to be vaccinated first. The administrative physicians and the rest of the doctors are not going to be vaccinated in the first round," he said.
Pérez Rico confirmed that the administrators of this sector and their staff in general will also be included as part of the medical area, but they will all receive the dose once the frontline staff has been vaccinated.
"All other personnel in the medical area will receive the vaccine, but only after the first contacts have been vaccinated".
In addition, he recalled that by the end of January 2021, doctors and nurses in both the public and private sectors "will have been vaccinated".
