TIJUANA – The norteña band Tigres del Norte will celebrate mothers from both sides of the border with a free concert at the city's bullring next Saturday, May 14.
The municipal government announced details of the concert at the 48,000-square meter Plaza Monumental de Toros.
Myriam Ruiz, Tijuana's public relations director, said that 80,000 tickets will be available at municipal offices across the city (called "delegaciones") as well as at the information stand at City Hall, located in the Río zone, a few blocks from the San Ysidro border crossing.
There will be two stages at the event. One will feature "Los Jefes de jefes," as the norteña band is known, and the other will present four other groups, Banda Aguacaliente, Calor Norteño, Distintos and Sentenciados.
She recommended that concertgoers wear comfortable shoes, use public transportation and not take children, although they will be admitted. Fans should not take alcoholic drinks or food to the venue, although these will be sold inside.
The doors will open at 5 p.m., and concertgoers must have a ticket to be admitted.
Los Tigres del Norte have not performed in Tijuana since 2006, so get your boots and hat ready and celebrate mom with some tigers.
