The roar is building, which can only mean one thing: Los Tigres del Norte are on the way.
The popular norteño band will perform Saturday at the Valley View Casino Center.
The band members from Sinaloa, winners of countless music awards, will perform songs from their latest production, "El Rugido de los Tigres del Norte."
Los Tigres del Norte are visiting San Diego after participating in MTV "Unplugged" concert on Tuesday. In that stage, reserved for the greatest musicians, the band played its greatest hits, such as "La Puerta Negra," "Lágrimas del Corazón," "Señor Locutor," "La Jaula de Oro" and "America," among others.
The band members also sent a message of peace with their interpretation of "Perdonen mi canto."
They are Jorge Hernández (lead vocals and accordion master), Hernán Hernández (electric bass), Eduardo Hernández (saxophone), Luis Hernández (bajo sexto) and Oscar Lara.
The group started performing in 1968 and has become a living legend. They have played an important part in the lives of several generations of Latinos living in the United States.
In Saturday's "Baile de los Enamorados" (Valentine's Dance) concert, Los Tigres del Norte will share the stage with La Original Banda Limón, El Trueno de México, Voz de Mando y Larry Hernández.
