Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz and his administration are enhancing traffic support measures around the designated public transport pick-up and drop-off zones in front of the Tijuana International Airport.
Led by the Department of Sustainable Urban Mobility, Inspection, and Traffic Safety (SEMOVIS), the initiative is designed to improve road safety and ease congestion in one of the city’s busiest transit areas.

SEMOVIS Director Apolinar Fernández explained that these actions are part of a comprehensive strategy to prevent congestion, deter dangerous maneuvers, and protect both pedestrians and public transport users who pass through the area daily.

Fernández explained that mobility agents provide guidance to drivers, monitor compliance with designated pick-up and drop-off zones, and assist pedestrians when crossing Bulevar Aeropuerto.
He noted that they are working in coordination with the Institute of Sustainable Urban Mobility (IMOS) to maintain order and safety in this transport pick-up and drop-off area.

Fernández also urged motorists and public transport drivers to follow agents’ instructions, avoid double-parking, and only use permitted zones for pick-ups and drop-offs to contribute to more efficient mobility.
The Tijuana government reaffirms its commitment to ongoing projects that enhance mobility in high-traffic zones, working toward a more efficient and orderly city.
