BAJA CALIFORNIA. Some time ago, there were talks in Baja California about changing the emergency number for the state, but now there is an official date to implement this plan.

According to Mexican news outlet Uniradio Informa, the current 066 emergency number will be replaced by the 911 code between July and October of this year, according to the State Department of Public Safety (SSPE) director, Daniel de la Rosa Anaya

"Baja California is one of the states chosen to be one of the first Mexican states to adopt the 911 emergency number, which will be made effective on July," he said. Synchronizing Mexico's safety response system with that of the U.S. and Canada is an important measure to bring peace of mind to those wanting to visit our country, Anaya added.
