The Tijuana government is expanding its support for women in business, backing the upcoming “More than Business: Women Who Lead” forum as part of a broader push for gender equality and economic growth.
The event, organized by the Melissa Ramos A.C. Association and supported by the city’s Department of Economic Development (SEDETI), is scheduled for Tuesday, November 25 at Salón La Candelaria.
At a press conference, SEDETI’s Director of Economic Promotion, Óscar Higuera Betancourt, said the agency supports initiatives that advance women’s professional development, noting their role as a driving force in the region’s economy.

The initiative aligns with the city’s ongoing efforts to fund community projects. Higuera noted the municipal government regularly supports impactful organizations through programs like the ‘Detonating Strategic Projects’ fund.
The legal representative of Melissa Ramos A.C., Melissa Ponce de León Leyva, outlined an agenda designed for practical impact, featuring a business panel with regional leaders, strategic networking sessions, and a “Leadership with Value” workshop.

She highlighted that the panel will feature regional leaders who will share experiences and insights to strengthen the attendees’ leadership skills.
Tickets for Tuesday’s event at Sánchez Taboada Boulevard’s Salón La Candelaria are available through the Boletia platform.
The event has drawn support from prominent business figures, including Marina Guerrero, CEO of RSI México, and finance influencer Sandi Lezama (“La Chica Finanzas”), both of whom participated in the launch announcement.
