Tijuana’s Fire Department, part of the Municipal Public Safety Office, confirmed that no damage or unusual activity was reported along the city’s beaches after a high surf alert was issued as a precaution. The alert followed a tsunami warning triggered by an earthquake near Russia.
The city’s Water Rescue Division announced that the high surf warning for Tijuana’s coastline has been lifted, although officials will continue to monitor weather and ocean conditions.
Despite the early morning alert on Wednesday, wave levels and tides remained stable, with no noticeable impact on the shoreline.

Lifeguards maintained patrols throughout the night and will keep monitoring areas prone to strong currents to ensure public safety.
In coordination with the Mexican Navy, local police increased patrols along the boardwalk, urging visitors to avoid walking on the sand and to use designated pedestrian paths.

The Tijuana government reassured residents that there is no risk to the public but urged the community to stay informed through official channels and to follow guidance from emergency services.
Residents are reminded that safety is a shared responsibility. In case of emergencies, use the official emergencies app or call 911 to report incidents.
