Baja California began the week in yellow color and with a decrease of active COVID-19 cases from 253 to 229, with Mexicali surpassing Tijuana.

The state capital concentrates 91 active cases, Tijuana 82, Ensenada 24, San Quintin 12, Rosarito 11, Tecate nine, and San Felipe none. At the same time, in the last 24 hours no deaths were registered in the state due to this disease, although at least seven new cases were reported, of which three were reported in Mexicali, two in Tijuana and one in Ensenada.

On the other hand, hospital occupancy continues to fall, registering today at 7.74%, when a month ago it was 20.90%, according to the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Perez Rico.

The number of Baja Californians hospitalized today due to COVID-19 is 59, while 24 more are intubated.

In spite of this encouraging outlook, authorities asked not to conglomerate, to continue using masks, to keep washing hands, to use antibacterial gel, and to keep social distancing; this since there is talk of a possible third wave, as is being observed in Europe.

So far in the pandemic, 44 thousand 390 people have been infected in the state, and 7 thousand 637 have lost their lives.
