Tijuana Boosts Neighborhood Infrastructure and Public Spaces

Mayor Burgueño’s administration is enhancing mobility and public spaces across Tijuana, with ongoing paving, maintenance, and street cleaning projects.

n is moving forward with the hydraulic concrete paving of Alhóndiga de Granaditas Avenue, a project that will directly benefit more than 900 residents of the El Pípila neighborhood. The $115,000 project, funded through Branch 33 resources, is now 50% complete.

Adriana Barrera Hernández, acting head of Delegations Coordination, recently inspected the work as part of the broader “Tijuana: Clean City” program, implemented by the Secretariat of Territorial and Urban Development (SDTU).

The project involves leveling more than 21,500 square feet of roadway, laying 9,300 cubic feet of concrete slab, constructing 1,420 linear feet of curb, and installing 43 linear feet of metal grating and storm drains. These improvements are expected to enhance mobility throughout the area.

Local Congresswoman Araceli Geraldo Núñez also visited the Bosques section of Natura State Park in the La Presa Este Delegation to observe maintenance efforts benefiting roughly 5,500 residents. Crews cleaned 8,600 square feet of park area, swept 330 linear feet of pathways, pruned vegetation, removed trash, and serviced 30 public lighting fixtures.

Infrastructure improvements continued in the Lago Sur neighborhoods, where workers cleaned 1,800 linear feet of Calzada Cetys, serviced 23,700 square feet of slopes, and manually swept gutters, removing approximately 4 tons of debris and sediment.
