Festivities for Tijuana’s 136th anniversary have a date! Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana invites all citizens to celebrate with a free concert by Salvador Lizárraga’s La Original Banda El Limón. The event will take place on Friday, July 11, at Glorieta Miguel Hidalgo (in front of the Municipal Palace), starting at 6:00 p.m.
Frank Deniz, Tijuana’s Deputy Director of Public Relations, stated that preparations and logistics are underway, with an estimated attendance of 10,000 people. Attendees can expect a lively musical atmosphere and an enjoyable evening. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., with Independencia Avenue serving as the only access point. The program will include performances by local artists, followed by a formal ceremony leading up to the headlining performance by La Original Banda El Limón.
Food vendors and restroom facilities will be available, but alcoholic beverages and folding chairs will not be permitted inside the venue.
Frank Deniz also announced that Independencia Bridge (in both directions) will be closed starting at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, and will reopen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12. Meanwhile, Paseo Centenario will be closed only on Friday, July 11, between Glorieta Diana Cazadora and the traffic light connecting to Cuauhtémoc Bridge.

The local Department of Sustainable Urban Mobility, Inspection, and Road Safety (SEMOVIS), along with traffic officers from the Department of Security and Citizen Protection, will implement operations to ensure road safety for concertgoers and those traveling near the event area.
