The ‘Tijuana: Clean City’ program, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz’s administration, is enhancing the urban environment by maintaining public parks, restoring green areas, and paving roads with hydraulic concrete in the La Presa Este and La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez delegations.
At the park and community center in Cañadas del Florido (Presa Este delegation), Josué Gutiérrez Márquez, Director of Municipal Public Services, informed residents about ongoing maintenance work, which includes tree and palm pruning, grass cutting, median cleaning, and playground repairs, benefiting 40,000 people.
“We are carrying out several cleaning and maintenance actions to ensure this park remains in optimal condition. Through ‘Tijuana: Clean City,’ we invite the community to join these efforts,” Gutiérrez Márquez said.
Local residents shared that rehabilitating this park was a long-standing request, now fulfilled thanks to Mayor Ismael Burgueño’s leadership.

Later that Thursday, Adriana Barrera Hernández, Acting Delegate Coordinator, and Joaquín Alberto Sandoval Chávez, Acting Delegate of La Presa Este, visited Paseos del Florido park to oversee urban improvements.
With community support, workers pruned vegetation, cleaned the area, collected three tons of trash, and repaired 12 streetlights, benefiting 3,500 residents.
In the Mariano Matamoros neighborhood, Virginia Vargas González, Secretary of Urban and Environmental Development, and Councilor Magaly Ronquillo Palacios supervised the beginning of hydraulic concrete paving on Ignacio Aldama Street—another achievement under ‘Tijuana: Clean City.’
Vargas González reported that 7,500 citizens will benefit from 1,926 square meters of new pavement, with an investment of 4.2 million pesos.
“We are overseeing the paving of a key street, joined by Honorary Social Commissioners who are watching over this project. Paving improves the city’s appearance and uplifts communities. It’s an act of social justice,” Councilor Ronquillo added.
Gabriela Ponce Velázquez, Acting Delegate of La Presa ALR, was also present at the event.
