“Tijuana: Clean City” Program Improves City’s Urban Infrastructure

Cleaning and maintenance efforts in new areas are benefiting over 6,000 residents in Tijuana

As part of the “Tijuana: Clean City” program, Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz’s administration continues to carry out cleaning and maintenance work in neighborhoods across the Otay Centenario, La Mesa, and Sánchez Taboada delegations, benefiting more than 6,000 residents.

The first stop this Wednesday was in the 3 de Octubre neighborhood of the Sánchez Taboada delegation, where local deputy Gloria Miramontes oversaw the road grading of 1,600 square meters on Jazmín Street.

Additionally, three tons of heavy trash were collected in this area, streetlights were repaired, and improvements were made to a multi-purpose sports court, benefiting over 3,500 residents.

Later, at the Guillermo Prieto Kindergarten in the Riveras del Álamo neighborhood (Otay Centenario), general cleaning was performed across 500 square meters, and 25 tons of trash, sediment, and debris were removed.

Previously in this location, 1,600 square meters of the street adjacent to the school were graded, and 50 linear meters of sidewalks and crosswalks were painted, positively impacting 450 students, parents, and residents.

Finally, on Paseo de los Taxistas Street and the multi-purpose court at Infonavit La Mesa, cleaning was carried out across 1,500 square meters, with seven tons of household waste and tree trimmings removed. Additionally, the court was repainted, and several streetlights were repaired, benefiting approximately 2,100 people.

The supervision of these efforts was led by councilmember Ranier Falcón Martínez, along with Delegates Casas (Otay Centenario), Bianka Najar (La Mesa), and Teresa García (Sánchez Taboada). Also overseeing the daily operations was Adriana Barrera Hernández, acting head of the Delegation Coordination Office.

Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana reaffirmed his commitment to implementing strategies that promote the comprehensive development of communities and called on citizens to help maintain public spaces in good condition.
