As part of the “Tijuana: Ciudad Limpia” (Clean City) program, municipal crews collected more than 18 tons of garbage in the Otay Centenario and Sánchez Taboada delegations, continuing the city’s effort to restore public spaces and promote cleaner neighborhoods.
The initiative, promoted by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, reflects the city’s commitment to fostering safer, more orderly, and healthier environments for its residents. This latest push directly benefited over 3,000 people by clearing waste from public spaces and streets.
The work began on Sunday in the Valle Vista Segunda Sección neighborhood, where crews collected 10 tons of debris from Citlaltépetl Street. The cleanup provided a noticeable improvement for the more than 1,500 residents in the area.

The operation then moved to the Camino Verde neighborhood in Sánchez Taboada. There, workers removed another 8 tons of trash from Herreras Street. The project scope extended beyond waste collection, including repairs to public lighting and the grading of 5,000 square meters of the road, enhancing the area for another 1,500 citizens.
During supervision tours, Otay Centenario delegate Claudia Casas and Sánchez Taboada delegate Teresa García jointly called on residents to protect the revitalized spaces, avoid littering, and report those caught committing this offense to the number 072.
The Tijuana: Clean City program is set to continue its work across the city, relying on the partnership between municipal crews and engaged citizens to build a cleaner and more sustainable Tijuana for all.
