As of this Tuesday morning, the active COVID-19 cases registered in Baja California are 825, of which 431 are located in Mexicali, following Tijuana with 175.

In addition, according to what was presented by the Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, the state capital continues to be the municipality most affected by the pandemic; since of the 196 new cases registered in the last hours, 94 are from Mexicali, thus adding 11 thousand 922 positive cases of the 27 thousand 318 accumulated in the entity.

For its part, Tijuana registered 61 new cases and a total of 8 thousand 830 confirmed cases. However, in the case of deaths, which so far total 4 thousand 457, the border city surpasses Mexicali in reporting 18 new deaths, with one thousand 914; while the capital lost seven Mexicali natives, totaling these one thousand 835.

According to Dr. Pérez Rico's report, the current hospital occupation in Baja California is 67%, 231 available beds and 144 available ventilators, and the reproduction rate of the virus that causes COVID-19 is 1.5, meaning that a person who has tested positive for coronavirus can infect two more in the region.
