The Tijuana government, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño, recently rolled out a new phase of its “Tijuana: Clean City” program, improving public spaces in three districts and benefiting more than 20,000 residents. The initiative focused on park maintenance, street repairs, green space rehabilitation, and lighting upgrades.
In Cerro Colorado, crews worked at Parque Guaycura, maintaining roughly 8,600 square feet of green space, pruning 15 palm trees, removing about 11,000 pounds of trash, repairing lighting, and refurbishing sports areas, enhancing communal spaces for approximately 8,500 residents. Delegation head Rosa Margarita García Zamarripa thanked neighbors for participating and highlighted the impact of community-government collaboration.

In La Presa Este, streets in the El Florido 1 Sección neighborhood were resurfaced across nearly 38,750 square feet, improving traffic flow and accessibility for over 2,500 residents. Delegation officer Joaquín Alberto Sandoval Chávez emphasized the administration’s commitment to being close to residents and addressing their needs.

Meanwhile, in La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez’s Granjas Familiares neighborhood, crews removed roughly 44,000 pounds of trash and resurfaced about 32,300 square feet of roadways, improving mobility and urban conditions for 9,500 residents. Delegation officer Gabriela Ponce Velázquez encouraged residents to continue engaging with city programs.

City officials, including representatives from Public Works and community commissioners, joined the efforts. These projects reflect Tijuana’s commitment to cleaner, safer, and more functional public spaces for its residents.
