Cleanup efforts led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz will reach over 6,100 residents as the “Tijuana: Clean City” program moves through neighborhoods in Otay Centenario, La Mesa, and Sánchez Taboada.

During his inspection tour, the mayor visited Las Torres in Otay Centenario to oversee the grading of Villa Hermosa Street, covering 1,125 square meters of dirt road improvements. The work will benefit more than 1,100 residents and is being carried out with the help of a water truck and a motor grader.

“We are restoring unpaved roads, installing streetlights, and doing everything necessary to improve neighborhood infrastructure. We’re working hand-in-hand with community leaders, working together like never before. We will continue supporting our neighborhoods every day with our all-terrain agenda,” the mayor said.

Later, he visited Cañón Salado in the La Mesa delegation to supervise the cleaning of a sediment trap on Guadalajara Avenue, as well as the installation of safety markers at a nearby intersection. These improvements will enhance road safety for 1,500 residents and pedestrians in the area.

“Our machinery is operating 24/7 and is ready to serve the community. We’re going to places where authorities hadn’t set foot for years. We have the capacity to respond immediately to citizens’ needs, always prioritizing the most urgent issues,” Mayor Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana said.

Municipal Attorney Teresita Balderas Beltrán, who was present during the inspection, thanked the Honorary Social Commissioners for their role as community representatives:

“Their presence here ensures transparency and verifies the municipal government’s actions for the benefit of all citizens.”
