In preparation for the upcoming holiday period, Tijuana is expecting approximately 60,000 visitors across its various tourist attractions, according to Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz.
Speaking from Avenida Revolución during a link to Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s morning press conference, the mayor outlined the city’s operational plan for the Holy Week holiday.

“Through the Municipal Government and in coordination with the state, we are ready to launch the Holy Week operation from March 25 to April 5,” he said.
The mayor was joined by José Alejandro Avilés Amezcua, the Municipal Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCM).

A total of 1,208 personnel and 665 vehicles, including patrol cars, motorcycles, fire trucks, drones, and rescue boats, will be deployed as part of the operation, which is being coordinated by SSPCM.
The comprehensive strategy aims to ensure a safe environment for residents and tourists alike.

Mayor Ismael Burgueño added that authorities will establish both fixed and mobile checkpoints, enforce zero tolerance for extortion or any illegal activity, and provide personalized assistance to visitors.
