The Tijuana government, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruíz, is focusing on improving local education by helping teachers and school administrators build stronger leadership skills. As part of this effort, the city recently held a workshop titled “Assertiveness and Empathy: Keys to School Leadership Development” for educators from municipal schools.

Organized by the city’s Department of Education (SEPM), the training aimed to strengthen both the emotional and management skills of school staff. Education Secretary Miguel Alfredo Nuño García explained that the program follows national guidelines for continuous improvement in education set by MEJOREDU.

“This program gives our principals and supervisors the tools they need to make real changes in their schools. The goal is to keep improving the quality of education in our city’s public schools,” Nuño García said.

He added that through these workshops, the city’s Education Department hopes to build a positive school environment that supports both academic excellence and student well-being.

By offering this type of training, the Tijuana government is reaffirming its commitment to better education for all students.
