The Tijuana city government, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, held a community well-being event this weekend in the El Pípila neighborhood, providing services to more than 500 residents.
The event took place in the La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez area and was part of the city’s effort to bring public services directly to local communities.
Mayor Burgueño said the city’s social programs, including Tijuana: Ciudad Limpia (Tijuana: Clean City) and Tijuana Saludable (Healthy Tijuana), are focused on improving quality of life and are not tied to political interests.
“The Tijuana Saludable program belongs to the people,” the mayor said. “Public resources are being used to create well-being, and we will continue working for the community. Next year will be even better.”
He also pointed to recent infrastructure investments in eastern Tijuana, noting that 22 of the 333 new garbage collection routes created in 2025 serve the La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez area.

The event offered free services from several city departments, including the distribution of waterproofing materials and toys for children. Burgueño described the gathering as part of the city’s year-end community outreach efforts.
“We are closing the year with this event, and the results reflect the teamwork behind these programs,” he said.
Wendy Ontiveros González, Tijuana’s Secretary of Well-Being, said the event reflects the administration’s focus on working directly with residents and addressing community needs.

The event was attended by Councilwoman Magaly Ronquillo Palacios; Cabinet Coordinator Leticia Vidrio Moreno; Civil Registry Official Odalys Valenzuela Espinoza; Municipal Social Well-Being Director Ariana Guerrero; and community representative Silvia Ceja Vidrio, along with hundreds of residents who benefited from the services.
