Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño has fulfilled a key infrastructure promise with the completion of a major paving project in the Lomas del Matamoros neighborhood. The newly inaugurated hydraulic concrete pavement on C.F.E. Street is set to benefit over 8,000 residents, marking a significant step in the administration’s commitment to improving mobility and access for local families.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Burgueño emphasized his administration’s focus on high-impact projects.
“From the very beginning, we’ve prioritized work that delivers real benefits to a large number of people. This project strengthens critical infrastructure in this area. Our citizens placed their trust in us, and we’re here to deliver on our promises. We work wholeheartedly with the well-being of our community in mind.”

The project not only improves living conditions for residents but also benefits CFE customers across the Eastern Zone who use the road to access utility payment services.
Secretary of Territorial and Urban Development Virginia Vargas González provided details on the project’s origins, noting that the mayor had identified C.F.E. Street as a priority from the outset which is why years of documentation that residents had submitted to various agencies seeking this improvement were reviewed.

The completed infrastructure project, executed through two contracts, covers 2,256 square meters of hydraulic concrete pavement. While primarily serving Lomas del Matamoros, the improvements also benefit adjacent communities including Granjas Familiares del Matamoros and Jardín Dorado.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several officials including Councilwoman Magaly Ronquillo Palacios, La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez Delegate Gabriela Ponce Velázquez, and neighborhood committee representative María Silvia Aldana Quezada.

The Tijuana Government continues to deliver good governance results, responding to the trust of citizens with actions that transform and improve the quality of life for thousands of Tijuana natives.
