Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz joined the festivities at the starting line of the 39th edition of the iconic SCORE San Felipe 250 race, one of the premier off-road events in the world.

In his remarks, the mayor expressed his gratitude for the invitation to attend the event, underscoring its importance in reinforcing Baja California’s status as a global hub for sports tourism. He emphasized that the event not only attracts visitors from around the world but also plays a crucial role in boosting the regional economy and elevating the state’s international profile.

With 236 teams from 10 countries taking part, the SCORE San Felipe 250 has become a key fixture in the off-road motorsport world. The event is expected to draw more than 125,000 attendees.

Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism, praised the competition’s impact on the region:

“It turns San Felipe into a global meeting point. This is our chance to showcase the beauty of this destination. The event generates positive effects across sectors such as hospitality, dining, and commerce. We thank SCORE for choosing us as their venue. Welcome to San Felipe,” he said.

San Felipe Mayor José Luis Dagnino López also spoke at the event, welcoming attendees, competitors, and officials.

“This race puts us on the map internationally. San Felipe is the paradise of Baja California, and today, the world is watching. Let’s enjoy the race and may the best competitor win,” he said.

The event was attended by Congresswoman Liliana Michel Sánchez Allende and Congressman Juan Manuel Molina García; Playas de Rosarito Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz; Rear Admiral of the General Staff Corps of the San Felipe Naval Sector, Gabriel Guzmán Comparán; General of the General Staff Corps of the Military Garrison, Luis Enrique Salcido Guzmán; municipal authorities, and SCORE representatives.
