As part of efforts led by the Tijuana State Public Services Commission (CESPT), Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz and Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda reviewed the progress of potable water and sewer upgrades along Avenida Revolución, a project with an investment of 22.1 million pesos.

The mayor thanked the governor for her support in revitalizing the iconic Avenida Revolución, reinforcing City Hall’s commitment to breathe new life into the area since the start of the current administration.

“Coordinated efforts lead to excellent results. I know all the merchants and tenants are very grateful—they’ve told me so themselves—but above all, local tourism and visitors will benefit. We will continue working together. Thank you, Governor, for everything you’re doing for Tijuana,” said Mayor Burgueño.

In response, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda stated:

“Mayor, thank you for all your support. In these months leading the Tijuana City Hall, we’ve made progress on urban projects, and this is a step toward reclaiming public spaces in a historic area like Avenida Revolución.”

The governor emphasized that her administration will continue to work for the people of Tijuana by restoring public spaces that both residents and visitors will get to enjoy.

Additionally, 2 million pesos are being invested to upgrade the potable water and sewer networks as part of the Callejón Travieso project, addressing long-standing requests from local merchants and residents to replace pipelines that are more than 50 years old.

The event was attended by councilmember Pablo Yáñez Placencia, delegate José Luis Portillo Reyes, as well as local business owners and residents who will benefit from the improvements.
