Tijuana’s Minister of Economic Development, Pedro Montejo Peterson, took part in the 2025 Annual Activities Report of the Medical Devices Cluster, held at the Graduate Forum of Xochicalco University. The event reflects the vision of Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz to boost the competitiveness of the region’s strategic industries.
Organized by SEDETI’s Economic Promotion Directorate, the meeting highlighted key achievements from the 2024–2025 period and outlined the 2025–2026 work plan. It also served as a platform for open dialogue between industry, academia, and government—aimed at strengthening collaboration and driving the sector’s growth.

Montejo highlighted City Hall’s commitment to bolstering the medical devices sector, a key driver of Tijuana’s and the region’s economy.
This collaborative effort allowed participants to reflect on achievements, set new challenges, and establish strategic alliances to position Tijuana as a national and international leader in the medical devices industry.

Attendees included representatives from organizations such as the state’s Department of Economy and Innovation, INDEX Zona Costa, Baja’s Medical Device Cluster, Xochicalco University, DEITAC, ARHITAC, Baja’s Health Cluster, CANACINTRA, among others who exchanged ideas on sector challenges and opportunities.
Through these efforts, the Tijuana government reaffirms its commitment to innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and sustained economic growth for the region.
