In response to this incident, a nearby kindergarten was adapted into an emergency shelter; the landslides, however, reached these facilities as well. Now 38 people conforming 7 families are biding their time in a local community center.

"We're looking at the possibilities of helping these families pay their rent in a different area close by while we solve this issue", declared Sánchez Reyes. "The important thing right now is to make sure that, for now, they are not living in the danger zone."
While their problem is being solved, most of the affected families of over 40 different collapsed households spend their days now living out in the open, protecting their material possessions and awaiting more information from their authorities.
