Showing very smart tactics and with a lot of heart, the Tijuana Zonkeys were able to beat Cananea Mineros 105-83, sweeping the series in Sonora for the first time, as part of the 2013 season of the Basketball Circuit of the Pacific Coast (Cibacopa in Spanish).
The best scorer of the night was Marcus Morrison with 36 points, followed by Omar Quintero with 19 and 14 units from Elvis Medina and Luis "Chupa" Ramirez. For the local squad Sammy Monroe scored 32 units, while Orlando Zuniga was only able to get 13 and Vincent Camper 10.
Motivate and with a 5-5 record, and 3 consecutive victories on the road, the Tijuana squad wil come back to the border to play on Tuesday and Wednesday against Hermosillo Rayos, the current champion of the tournament.
Tickets will be on sale starting Monday in regular office hours at the official Tijuana Zonkeys' Store in the lobby of the Auditorio Municipal.
