Tijuana is off to a strong start on property tax collections, bringing in more than 198 million pesos, about $11.6 million, in just the first 11 days of January, city officials said.
According to city data, property tax revenue totaled 198.7 million pesos (roughly $11.6 million) during that period, slightly higher than the approximately 196.8 million pesos collected over the same stretch last year.
Officials credited the early turnout to easier payment options and faster service, part of an effort under Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz to streamline city operations. The city is continuing its 2026 early-payment property tax campaign, which offers discounts to residents who pay ahead of schedule.

Taxpayers can receive a 12% discount in January, 10% in February, and 5% in March. Those who pay online through the city’s website qualify for an additional 3% discount year-round.
City Treasurer Víctor Alfonso Ramos Gómez said the money raised is directed toward public works and city services, adding that improving residents’ quality of life remains a priority for the administration. He encouraged homeowners who have not yet paid to take advantage of the discounts while they remain in effect.

Property taxes can be paid at City Hall, local district offices, the city’s 24-hour municipal holding facility, and at participating convenience stores, including Oxxo, 7-Eleven, Farmacias Roma, Calimax, and Walmart, with a copy of the tax bill.
