The City Hall is firmly committed to protecting the lives and safety of Tijuana residents, based on the fundamental principle that effective prevention is the best strategy for Civil Protection. As a result of a collaborative effort, several municipal agencies contributed to creating this document.

Importance of the Risk Atlas

José Luis Jiménez González, the Director of Civil Protection, explained that the adjustments made in the updated Risk Atlas aim to incorporate information about the city and the potential hazards that could affect the population. Additionally, it serves as a tool to enhance urban development planning and help mitigate the risks posed by natural disasters.

The Tijuana City Hall is prepared to prevent situations that could endanger the population.

The Risk Atlas, together with coordination among various local government agencies, will help prevent disasters and improve living conditions for Tijuana’s residents. It will also raise awareness among citizens about areas deemed uninhabitable and maintain ongoing communication with all social sectors.

Jiménez González emphasized that this document, under the leadership of Mayor Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana, will lay the foundation of a new territorial reorganization in the region and improve preventive and immediate response measures to crises caused by natural phenomena.

With these actions, the 25th City Hall enhances its capacity to establish sustainable communities, improve planning, and train staff who coordinate and respond to emergencies, consolidating its preventive programs for the benefit of the citizens, because Tijuana is Everyone’s Responsibility.
