With the goal of strengthening bilateral ties and identifying new opportunities for economic collaboration, Tijuana’s Economic Development Department (SEDETI) held a working meeting with a visiting delegation from Changchun, China.
During the session, SEDETI Director Pedro Montejo Peterson presented an overview of Tijuana’s recent growth, highlighting key economic and social indicators as well as the major strategic projects currently being advanced by the local government.

Discussions centered on improving regional competitiveness, exploring new avenues for investment attraction, and identifying potential areas of cooperation that could lead to long-term strategic partnerships.
The Changchun delegation expressed its willingness to explore joint initiatives aimed at sustainable development and strengthening the relationship between both cities. Officials also voiced interest in promoting exchanges on innovation, industrial development, and urban modernization.

The visiting delegation included Lu Xiaoguang, mayor of Chaoyang District; Liu Weiran, director of the Office of Consular Affairs; Yang Kaiming, interpreter for the Office of Foreign Affairs; Xiuning Company president Mrs. Dongxiao; Xiuning vice president Su Xin; and Al Chu, representative for Jilin Province and the city of Changchun.
