Tijuana is set to make history by attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Margarita Container, with a staggering capacity of 40,000 liters. The current record is held by Las Vegas, with a 32,000-liter margarita.
Event organizer Fabiola Partida Durán shared that preparations for this ambitious project began a year ago, and over 500 people are now involved in making it a reality.

She emphasized that breaking this Guinness World Record will put Tijuana on the global map, showcasing a story of hard work, dreams, determination, and achieving a monumental goal.
Mario Soto Cota, General Director of Grupo ICASA, revealed that construction of the massive margarita glass structure started three years ago. Made primarily of stainless steel to withstand the pressure of 40,000 liters, the structure stands 7 to 8 meters tall with a 3.8-meter diameter.

He explained that the design includes a continuous stirring system to maintain the drink’s consistency, as well as filling and cooling systems to ensure the margarita stays fresh.
Students from various universities will participate in the event. Those in administrative degree programs will assist with logistics, while culinary students will help prepare the margarita.

Luis Vargas, Director of the Culinary Arts Program at UTT, stated that around 80 students will take part over the three-day event, gaining hands-on experience to complement their academic training.
This event will take place from Friday, July 11, starting at 3:00 p.m., through Sunday, July 13, at the former Caliente Racetrack. Entry will require a ticket purchase.
