TIJUANA – Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles lead 3-0 at halftime at the Estadio Caliente over Club Deportivo Victoria in the final game of the group stage of the CONCACAF Champion's League (CCL). Diego Olsina, Paul Arriola and Emmanuel Cerda have gotten on the score sheet for Xolos so far; they could easily have had another three goals.
Young U.S. International Paul Arriola got things started early when in the first minute he slammed his shot off the post, Xolos kept the attacking momentum the entire first half. The pay off for the home side came in the 17th minute when Diego Olsina finished off a good combination play between himself, Cristian Pellerano and Emmanuel Cerda who have Olsina the assist.
In the 32nd minute in another fast play up the middle of the field Paul Arriola was feed a through ball and he finished calmly in front of the goalkeeper to make the score 2-0. Three minutes later Emmanuel Cerda chested down an Aldo Polo cross and beat the keeper with his shot to make the score 3-0.
USMNT striker Herculez Gomez will probably see some game time in the second half. Will he be able to make his Xolos debut with a goal?
