The Tijuana City Hall presented key progress updates to the Business Advisory Council this week, highlighting advancements in priority initiatives aimed at boosting the city’s competitiveness.

Speaking on behalf of Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, Municipal Secretary of Economic Development Pedro Alejandro Montejo Peterson said that a year and a half into the current administration, significant results have been achieved thanks to close collaboration with the local business community.

Montejo Peterson thanked council members for their active participation in working groups, noting that their continued engagement will help ensure the completion of several key projects by the end of the current municipal term.

Among the initiatives discussed were the Urban Development Program for the Tijuana Population Center (PDUCPT 2026), the Infrastructure Investment Plan, public security applications and devices, the regularization of donations and green areas, a roadmap for digitizing municipal procedures, and the “Acorde” self-regulation program. Some of these efforts, he noted, have already reached 95% completion.

Other actions are currently at 50% progress, which Montejo Peterson described as an opportunity to reassess and fine-tune their direction.

“We are on track to finish everything we set out to do in October 2024, when Mayor Burgueño launched these working groups to improve the city’s economic development,” he said.
