TIJUANA.- This past Wednesday morning, mayor Jorge Astiazarán Orcí, showed details and progress made so far regarding the Sistema Integral de Transporte de Tijuana (SITT), to members of the Economic Development Committee (Consejo de Desarrollo Económico de Tijuana [CDT] in Spanish), in order to continue approaching different organizations to showcase how the project will benefit the community.
During the reunion, held at the World Trade Center Tijuana, mayor Jorge Astiazarán highlighted that a city without an effective public transit system is an uncompetitive city, which is why its imperative the modernization of the whole system which will change Tijuanas image and consequently attract bigger investments that spark off the economic development of the region.
The president of the CDT, Humberto Inzunza Fonseca, reaffirmed the committees commitment to collaborate with the local government in order to elevate the citys progress, since the needs of the locals are above all.
The General Secretary of Government, Bernardo Padilla Muñoz, the Secretaries of Urban and Ecological Development, Roberto Sánchez Martínez, the Secretary of Economic Development of Tijuana, Xavier Peniche Bustamante, the head of the SITT, Luis Alonso López Sepúlveda, as well as members of the CDT where in attendance.
