President Donald Trump on Monday publicly touted a U.S. military action in Venezuela codenamed “Operation Absolute Resolve”, framing it as a powerful demonstration of American armed forces’ strength.
The president characterized the operation as “brilliant” and “incredible,” asserting that it was executed flawlessly by U.S. troops without a single casualty. He claimed the mission targeted a heavily fortified area, which he described as the “heart of a fortress” defended by thousands of Venezuelan soldiers, and that it resulted in considerable enemy casualties. No verifiable figures were provided to support this claim.
“It was an amazing military feat that took place,” Trump said. “You know, people are saying it goes down with one of the most incredible – it was so complex, 152 airplanes – many talk about boots on the ground – we had a lot of boots on the ground but it was amazing.”
The public remarks appear designed to project an image of overwhelming military precision and dominance and are likely to escalate regional tensions.
While the administration positions the operation as a significant strategic and operational achievement, confirmation of the Venezuelan casualties has not yet been provided by official sources.
