Lance Hegerle, the U.S. Consul General in Tijuana, conducted an official tour of the Cross Border Xpress (CBX) facilities to gain deeper insight into the operations of the cross-border pedestrian bridge connecting San Diego directly to Tijuana International Airport.
During the visit, Consul General Hegerle met with CBX Chief Executive Officer Jorge Goytortúa, who provided an overview of the facility’s infrastructure and daily operations.
According to a statement released by the U.S. Consulate on social media, the facility serves as a vital link between the two nations that contributes to its economic prosperity.
He also noted that CBX is an example of model border infrastructure that facilitates safe, efficient, and legal crossings.
Hegerle also highlighted the close partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to drive economic dynamism throughout the CaliBaja region.
