The U.S. Embassy in Mexico has released data indicating a sustained decline in unauthorized migration, attributing the trend to policies implemented under the Trump administration.
In a public statement, the embassy said U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) encountered an average of 245 migrants per day in November who were in the country without authorization. According to the embassy, that figure represents a 95% drop compared with daily averages recorded during the previous presidential administration. The statement also noted that November marked the seventh consecutive month in which no detained migrants were released into the United States under parole programs.
Deportations and Deterrence
The embassy reported that since returning to office, the Trump administration has carried out more than 605,000 deportations. When combined with an estimated 1.9 million people who left the country voluntarily, the total number of migrants who have departed the United States during this period exceeds 2.5 million, according to the data.
The statement also highlighted efforts to limit access to public benefits to U.S. citizens, framing the policy as a measure to protect taxpayers. The embassy said those restrictions have resulted in an estimated $40 billion in savings.

Warning to Potential Migrants
The data release was accompanied by a warning directed at people considering crossing the border without authorization. The embassy said irregular migration is neither safe nor viable, citing significant risks and serious legal consequences. It urged individuals not to attempt to enter the United States unlawfully, stressing that enforcement measures remain in place.
