The Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) has been recognized in a global ranking as the best university in Northwestern Mexico and Baja California, reaffirming its leadership and commitment to academic excellence.
According to the list developed by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which evaluated both public and private institutions, UABC ranked sixth nationwide.
This recognition reflects the university’s strong performance in key areas such as educational quality, scientific research, international reach, and sustainability.
As one of Mexico’s leading public universities, UABC regularly participates in international evaluations that assess the quality and impact of higher education institutions around the world.
QS is among the most respected organizations in this field, known for its global rankings such as World University Rankings, Latin America & The Caribbean, and Sustainability. Other major evaluators include Times Higher Education (THE), which publishes the World University Rankings, Latin America University Rankings, Impact Rankings, and Interdisciplinary Science Rankings.
UABC’s Commitment
Recently, UABC was also recognized as one of the institutions with the greatest social and environmental impact, thanks to its continued efforts toward sustainable development, equity, and the education of professionals committed to their communities.
In this regard, UABC ranks seventh nationwide and fourth among State Public Universities (UPEs) for social impact. In the QS Sustainability ranking, it holds the fifth national position and second among UPEs, reaffirming its leadership in sustainability and its contribution to global well-being.
