Mexican authorities have warned about several cases of supposed American physicians with their licenses revoked trying to perform surgeries in Tijuana, a situation that affects the city's medical tourism and goes against the Baja California Medical Arbitrage Committee and endangers the life of patients looking to get cheap surgery.
"There is an ample supply of cheap doctors that are no good, and we face this reality all the time because there are people who are looking to dupe patients hoping to get surgery soon", said Felipe Paviovich del Rasso, Tijuana's Medical Tourism advisor, to local news outlet Uniradio Informa.
Patients searching for private attention in the city should be wary of misleading ads while the concerning authorities correct this situation.
