The head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, informed that the vaccination against COVID-19 for adults over 60 years of age in Tijuana will begin next week.
Without giving an exact date or specific vaccination points, he commented that they will install three massive sites and 10 more in the outskirts of the border city. At the same time, he pointed out that it is expected to vaccinate between 20 and 25 thousand Tijuanenses of this age range in a single day.
According to the Secretary, this Thursday afternoon approximately 20 thousand doses of Sinovac will arrive in the state, with which it is planned to finish applying the drug in Ensenada and start in Rosarito.
"We finished Rosarito, due to the projection of the adult population over 60 years old in Rosarito, we do not foresee that it will take more than two days, we will close Rosarito and it will be one hundred percent of the vaccination to start in Tijuana", he said.
So far, 106 thousand 966 seniors in Baja California have received their first dose of the anti-COVID vaccine, 53 thousand 713 of them are residents of Mexicali.
