40 thousand doses of anti-COVID vaccine are expected to arrive at 1:30 in the afternoon today, to vaccinate adults over 60 years of age in Tijuana, informed the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico.

The vaccination will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, with four mass vaccination points, one or two additional ones for the moment, and more than 100 brigades to visit nursing homes and homes for the elderly who cannot travel; the latter will depend on the number of vaccinators, military forces and welfare personnel, commented the secretary.

In spite of the complications that arose with the authorities of the Plaza Monumental de Playas de Tijuana, Perez Rico confirmed that it will operate as a massive vaccination point.

With this shipment it is expected to vaccinate 30% of Tijuana residents over 60 years of age, which are estimated to be between 100 thousand and 120 thousand who are waiting for their first dose.

The head of this agency also mentioned that of the 10 thousand 775 doses of Pfizer that are available in the state and that are destined for Mexicali, at least 5 thousand will be sent to Tijuana to begin with the application of the drug.
