Jorge Arreaza, who is the vice president of Venezuela, reported that internet services were suspended temporarily after what happened to Nicolas Maduro's Twitter account. This was done to prevent it from happening again.
Ironically the announcement was made via Twitter, where he wrote; "My fellow countrymen there are no problems with the internet. Stay calm! It was a brief move to prevent further hacks from foreign conspirators."
Aside from Maduro's account, that of Diosdado Cabello and the Urban Socialist Party of Venezuela was also hacked.
In a last message he said: "They are desperate and very frustrated. We are taking all necessary measures to prevent any institutions from being hacked .They will not be able to destabilize us!"
