Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, has again become the center of controversy after declaring that CNN is promoting a seizure of power of that country (Venezuela).

"CNN in Spanish is a television station that only serves for destabilization purposes, whom openly is calling out for a seizure of power in Venezuela, and distorts the political and social life of our country" Maduro said on national television last Monday.

Maduro also made reference to a "psychological warfare", in which he also included other international sources of media, and that this was an activity promoted by the "extreme right".

Meanwhile, CNN responded to these accusations and pointed out that Maduro never accepted invitations for an interview with this network. Through its Spanish website, CNN said "Once again we publicly invite President Maduro to have a conversation about these important issues and hope that he accepts".
