The icy weather isn’t letting up, and while we thought the snow season was over, much of California is once again treating us to winter wonderlands. Snow-capped mountains are creating stunning scenery and giving visitors plenty of opportunities to ski, snowboard, or enjoy other winter activities.

Here’s a roundup of some California destinations currently blanketed in snow:

Laguna Mountain

Located in eastern San Diego County, Mount Laguna sits at 6,000 feet, which brings natural snowfall several times each winter. This small community and recreation area is just about an hour from San Diego.

Snow Valley Mountain Resort

Nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains, Snow Valley offers beginner-friendly slopes and is usually less crowded than Big Bear, making it ideal for a weekend getaway. It’s roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes from San Diego.

Spread across West, East, and North areas in Wrightwood, within the San Gabriel Mountains, Mountain High is popular for its proximity to the city. The resort offers skiing, snowboarding, and a variety of winter activities. It’s about 2 hours and 30 minutes from San Diego.
