Beyond the Match: Community Events

The Baja Cup is more than just a game. Leading up to the match, players from both teams participated in a community event in Playas de Tijuana, while San Diego hosted a youth tournament with more than 250 young athletes across 30 teams.

The winner of Tuesday’s contest will lift the Baja Cup trophy, which will remain with the champion until the next edition. The tournament’s official logo highlights the binational spirit by incorporating two iconic landmarks: the Coronado Bridge of San Diego and the Tijuana Arch.

What is the Baja Cup?

The Baja Cup is envisioned as an annual commemorative match, paired with community and youth-focused activities. It is part of a five-year partnership between San Diego FC and Club Tijuana, underscoring the strong ties between both cities on and off the field.
